Week 16

Hope everyone had a fun 4th of July yesterday. It was raining and overcast most of the day, but the sky cleared up just in time for the big Palmer Lake fireworks show. We went to a friends house where there was a bunch of great food. Then we all went to a house that's right on Palmer Lake, giving everyone the best view of the firework show. I stayed in the house and wasn't able to see much, but it was way too loud for the baby. Miles said it was really good, a surreal experience since the fireworks were right above us. I'm still feeling pretty good. Still have a lot of RL pains on and off. I cut down teaching Zumba to twice a week now. I'm thinking of trying swimming as well. Figured it would be good for me and easy on my body. I wonder if I'll have to get a cap so I won't dry out my hair :) May have to get a new bathing suit too. Still no pregnancy glow for me. My face looks like you could play connect the dots with it. I'm just glad I have foundation to cover most of it! That's about it from here. We should know the baby's gender in a couple weeks...I can't wait! I also thought I would add what the baby is looking like now.

How your baby's growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
